you get what you work for”
Twizzlers Fees & Membership
The more hours you train the better it works out on a monthly basis. You can pay the club directly using Class4Kids, Standing Order, or bank transfer. You can also pay cash in a named envelope—please hand it directly to Mel. Bank details can be provided directly to you.
British Gymnastics Membership
Like all sports, Gymnastics & Trampoline has a governing body which in this instance is British Gymnastics. This requires all clubs and members taking part in the sport to be a member.
Depending on the competition level will depend on the membership required. These are Community, Competitive & National. Recreational Gymnastics & Trampoline only require the community membership. BG Community is currently £24 per year. For our senior squad members and those competing at WAG Regional & Trampoline Inter-Regional Level 1 and above require Competitive and is currently £60. Please speak to your coach to confirm which membership you require.
British Gymnastics membership is direct, this can only be done through their website JUST GO. Membership runs from October – September every year and renewals are due by the end of September. Gymnasts must register before they can train or take part in classes and competitions. This is set by British Gymnastics not by Twizzlers to ensure everyone taking part is covered.
If you’re unsure about your membership level or have questions, talk to your coach.
Membership fees at all levels fund personal insurance, safeguard participants, and support grassroots sport. To learn more about how BG membership fees are allocated, please follow this link.
Twizzlers Club Membership
In addition to BG membership, Twizzlers requires its own annual club membership, paid each September. This is currently £18 per year. This covers the clubs affiliation with both British Gymnastics & London Gymnastics, Insurance, Maintenance & Servicing of all our equipment and allows us to hold events such as the Twizzlers Display and Internal & Invitational Club Competitions throughout the year.
Other Costs – Competitions
Twizzlers proudly compete in both gymnastics and trampoline at all levels, from local meets to national events. These opportunities may come with additional costs
Monthly payments do not cover competition entry fees. These vary depending on the gymnasts level and the number of events entered.
Competitors usually wear specific clothing during events. This makes up the second additional cost: the Twizzlers uniform. At a minimum, this includes the club leotard and shorts, which are mandatory for participating in external competitions. We also prefer athletes to wear the club jacket (tracksuit) and a Twizzlers T-shirt to ensure everyone looks unified and is easily identifiable
Most trampoline squad members choose to wear specialist shoes for better grip, or plain white socks if they opt not to. Male trampolinists may also wear white trampoline trousers (longs) instead of shorts.
Children should reserve their competition leotards for events and wear separate training leotards weekly..
Other Costs – Travel
Inter-Regional competitions typically take place at Redbridge. If you’re lucky enough to represent London at the finals, they take place in Birmingham—typically in July at the Utilita Arena. These events often require an overnight stay to allow for venue orientation the evening before
League competitors usually participate in qualifiers at the National Indoor Athletic Centre in Cardiff. The second event changes each season and has taken place at venues such as the University of Birmingham, University of Bath, and University of Newcastle. These events require travel and, depending on the league, may span multiple days
English Championships are based over 2 qualifying weekends with one of them normally in Telford at the Internation
al Centre with the second at a venue such as the University Of Birmingham (Midlands). English Gold competitions usually take place on Saturdays, with Silver events held on Sundays.
National Age Groups competitions take place at the Telford International Centre and are multi-day events if athletes enter more than one discipline

If you have any questions around competition or additional costs or want to find out some of the locations we travel to please speak to Angie or Mel.
