Twizzlers Fees & Membership
British Gymnastics & Trampoline Membership
Like all sports, gymnastics & trampoline has a governing body which in this instance is British Gymnastics. This requires all clubs and members taking part in the sport to be a member.
Depending on the competition level will depend on the membership required. These are Community, Competitive & National. Recreational gymnastics & trampoline only require the community membership. BG Community is currently £24 per year. For our senior squad members and those competing at WAG Regional & trampoline inter-regional level 1 and above require Competitive and is currently £60. Please speak to your coach to confirm which membership you require.
British Gymnastics membership is direct, this can only be done through their website JUST GO. Membership runs from October – September every year and renewals are due by the end of September. Gymnasts who are not registered will not be able to train or take part in any classes or competitions. This is set by British Gymnastics not by Twizzlers to ensure everyone taking part is covered.
If you are unsure about the level of membership or having any issues, please speak to your coach. At all levels membership goes towards personal insurance, safeguarding and promoting the sport at grass roots level. To see what BG membership fees go towards please follow this link to find out more.
Twizzlers Club Membership
Alongside the BG membership Twizzlers has our own club membership which is also an annual payment made in September, this is currently £18 per year. This covers the clubs affiliation with both British Gymnastics & London Gymnastics, Insurance, Maintenance & Servicing of all our equipment and allows us to hold events such as the Twizzlers Display and Internal & Invitational Club Competitions throughout the year.
Other Costs!
We are fortunate enough to be able to compete in both gymnastics and trampoline at all levels. These can be anything from a local competition to a National Event, which in turn brings their own additional costs.
Firstly this is the competition entry fees which are not included in the monthly fees, these vary depending on the level and number of events being entered for.
Most competitions have a clothing requirement to be worn whilst competing. This forms the second additional cost being Twizzlers uniform! This consists of as a minimum the club leotard and shorts which is required to take part in external competitions. Also the Club Jacket (Tracksuit) is preferred to ensure that everyone looks the same and easily identifiable along with a Twizzlers T-Shirt.
The majority of the trampoline squad also prefer to wear specialist shoes to jump to help with grip and/or plain white socks are needed. Male trampolinists can also wear white trampoline trousers (longs) instead of shorts.
It is also recommended that children don’t train in competition leotards on a weekly basis so a training or alternate leotard is required.
For those competing at Inter-Regional, venues are normally Redbridge and if you are lucky enough to represent London at the finals, those are hosted in Birmingham, normally in July at the Utilita Arena with these events requiring an overnight stay to allow for orientation of the venue the evening before.
Those competing at League can find themselves normally in Cardiff at the National Indoor Athletic Centre as one of the qualifiers. The second event we would normally enter varies and have been at venues such as University Of Birmingham, University Of Bath, University Of Newcastle requiring travel and depending on the league entered potential multiple day events.
English Championships are based over 2 qualifying weekends with one of them normally in Telford at the International Centre with the second at a venue such as University Of Birmingham (Midlands). Qualification is normally competed over a single day
National Age Groups are competed at the Telford International Centre and multi day events if entering more than one discipline.
